Helping Communities Get Online: NHS App Digital Inclusion Training for VCSE Organisations
Digital Voice is a multi-award-winning organisation which specialises in digital inclusion.
Last summer, we launched a brand new initiative for the NHS, which helped people get online using the app and eased pressure on already stretched local surgeries.
In February, we’re running NHS App sessions for voluntary workers in the North East as part of our CPD Programme. On 3rd February there is an online session from 12-1.30 pm.
Our digital experts are running this useful online learning session with Connected Voice to help you help others download and use the NHS app. We will cover the common barriers to getting signed up, simple step-by-step guidance. With the increasing digitisation of healthcare, equal access has become critical. These seminars explore our GP waiting room initiative in Gateshead that enabled hundreds of patients to access the NHS App, examining its impact on community healthcare and the NHS, barriers to adoption, practical support processes, and inclusive digital learning practices.
Why should you learn to use the app?
The NHS app allows patients to do things that they would typically have to call the GP reception for, including: repeat prescriptions; managing appointments; checking their medical records. By helping the people you work with to use this, you can help them gain digital skills as well as save their own time telephoning or visiting their surgery.
