Investing in your team; CPD with Digital Voice

There are all sorts of ways you can work with Digital Voice to enhance your staff development offer. Whether it be Effective Online working, Reminiscence Training or Digital Storytelling, our courses are delivered by experts in the field and will contribute to your team’s ongoing development.

The newest addition to our suite of CPD programmes is a course that develops film making skills, something we know rather a lot about!

Julie, our Managing Director, explains why we’re sharing these skills:

“We recognise that organisations’ budgets are increasingly stretched, so we are happy to teach you the skills to make simple videos with your groups yourselves. More and more companies are required to share content online, so an investment like this, in your staff, is very worthwhile.’’

Your Voice Counts is one organisation that is making this investment. The charity supports people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people who are at risk of exclusion due to disability, illness or other challenges. Staff have learnt how to make documentary style films with us in an engaging blend of workshops including; planning the best interview questions; working out a shot list which will illustrate what the interviewees were saying; learning how to use the equipment; editing. Then they worked on location shoots at some of the sessions they run, mentored by an award-winning TV professional, where they filmed interviews.

Your Voice Counts will use the resulting pieces to show the impact of their groups on those who attend. Their films are a really effective way to give a flavour of the great work they do.

Amy Broughton had this to say about her learning experience:

“It was really, really good. It gave us a lot of confidence. It's so useful to do it yourself and learn from Ronnie’s expertise. It's a good model, a good way of doing it.”
