DigitalMe: Voice for the Voiceless
DigitalMe is our multi-award-winning platform for marginalised people to share their stories and effect change. That's why we're proud to have collaborated with a range of amazing organisations recently to bring the experiences of those often overlooked to the forefront.
The cost-of-living crisis has left many struggling to make ends meet. We were honoured to work with the Bill Quay Jubilee Trust's debt advice service, sharing the powerful stories of those they've helped navigate the challenges of debt and financial hardship. Through their words, we understand the impact of the service that helped them to manage their financial situations.
“Working with Digital Voice was a fantastic experience. They listened deeply, understood the heart of our charity, and crafted a professional film — complete with avatars — that clearly communicated our impact to the National Lottery. Their creativity, care, and professionalism shone through every step.“
- Dr Paul Cassidy, Bill Quay Money Matters Service
Over the years, we've had the privilege of collaborating with care-experienced young people. In partnership with Durham County Council, we co-produced a piece that gives voice to their experiences and highlights the responsibilities of corporate parents. By shedding more light on these perspectives, we hope to drive meaningful change.
We recently partnered with NE Youth, a regional charity which has been doing some excellent work to explore the barriers young people face to gain employment. The number of young people not in education or employment in the Northeast is huge and many face additional barriers such as care-experience, mental health and neuro-divergence as well as racial and sexual discrimination. The DigitalMe we co-produced with their Peer Ambassadors has been a very effective way to share the results of their research findings:
“Digital Voice were fantastic to work with on our youth employment project. They quickly understood the needs of working with young people and were incredibly flexible when we had to make last minute changes. Their team listened carefully to our vision for the video and delivered a final product that exceeded our expectations. The video they created will play an important role in raising awareness of the barriers young people face in employment, and we’re really excited to share it more widely. Thank you!”
- Jessica Wearmouth, NE Youth
Durham University approached us to help bring attention to the discrimination faced by older people when they become victims of crime. Through our work, we aim to shed light on this important issue and advocate for greater support and understanding.
Active Travel is a national initiative that has made a great impact in Gateshead thanks to the dedicated team at Gateshead Council. Their DigitalMe showed the impact of getting out, exercising in nature to people in recovery from mental health and addiction issues.
Young people often face a host of challenges, including the impact of substance use, whether their own or that of a family member. We worked with the national charity Change Grow Live to share the stories of resilience from those affected by this issue to help others understand this complex issue.
We collaborated with NE Youth's Peer Ambassadors to create a DigitalMe project that highlights the discrimination young people face and explores the systemic barriers affecting their employment prospects. We hope it will be a vehicle for improvements to be made.
At Digital Voice, we are committed to amplifying the voices of the seldom heard and the marginalised. By sharing these powerful stories, we hope to inspire change, foster greater understanding, and create a more inclusive world for all.
