Empowering your staff: CPD the Digital Voice way

Digital Voice delivers a range of programs which empower people to use digital technology in their everyday lives as well as inspiring creativity and self-expression.
Our CPD offer is no different. We empower and enable staff and volunteers in organisations so that they, in turn, can enhance the lives of their clients or residents. Our recent work with Everyday Creativity Care in Sussex, is an excellent example of how we can share our award-winning skills.
Three artists working with care home activity coordinators in Sussex, approached Digital Voice to create a bespoke training package for them which would enable them to run digital storytelling workshops to collect content, record audio, edit, and get to grips with the equipment and technology needed.
This blended learning course was delivered over four weeks via online live sessions and independent study, with the online sessions recorded if the learners needed to recap or had missed a session.
After their training, they started to apply their skills immediately with some powerful results. June Tims was one resident who was helped to create her digital story, her daughter was very moved:
“The digital story is a lovely thing to have. I’ve got many photo albums of mum but it’s special to now have her voice telling the story in her own words.
The story helps me to not lose sight of who mum is, you’ve recreated a person, an amazing woman. You’ve introduced to me a woman I didn’t know, not just my mother, but a person, a colleague, a journalist and I would have loved to have known her in these roles.
Mum’s had a brilliant reaction to her digital story, she’s back to her buzzy self and journalist June!”
