Photography is Fun!

“You don’t take a photograph, you make it.”

Ansel Adams, Photographer

Most of us have a camera in our pockets these days, making photography one of the most accessible artforms. As well as our popular, long-running PhotoClub, we run a range of photography experiences for people of all ages who would like to enhance their skills.

We have developed a series of photographic activities using iPads and digital cameras, which can be one-off sessions or form part of a longer course.

Photography is Fun

A six week course which develops basic photographic skills such as framing and editing as well as introducing a host of innovative apps to create for example, double exposure images, 3D and 360 degree photos. Each course culminates in an exhibition, curated by the participants and everyone’s achievement is recognised with a certificate.

Merging Past and Present

Perfect for intergenerational groups is the ability to merge past and present photos. We ask a group of older people to choose past photos of the area where they grew up. They then take children and young people to that same area, showing them where the original photo was taken. The children take their own photo of how and then are shown how to merge the photos, showing the same view, past and present.

Green Screen Effects

We can create pop-up studios for cosplay events in which we set up a green screen studio and show you how to create and alter images. You get to keep the photo too.

Still wondering if this is for you?

Participants always tell us that they feel a great sense of achievement from taking part in these projects but don’t just take our word for it.
